Photography

Photography and me the photographer….

let me introduce you to my pages of photography and allow me to share with you some insight about how my photographs have developed from the camera to these pages…

Firstly and to offer some support and guidance to those who wish to follow such a pastime or passion - I didn't and still don't have what is termed an expensive camera - I can safely say that my journey into photography has been more about the photo than the camera - however I have gradually improved on the kind and quality of camera I have used.

Now that I have discounted my professionalism with the camera I can move to the next step and that is to the photograph itself.

The photographs displayed are a selection of the many ‘snaps' I have taken whilst with camera at hand and have a scene within my vision - the process in itself is quite easy as long as I have my eyes open.

The photographs themselves are of the simple aspects of nature - everything on display was freely acquired through my interaction within my natural environment - the outdoors where the sun shines, the rain falls and the wind blows.

Over time more photos and will be added so please do return and have another look another time.

This first selection is my Fungi photos and covers both Ground and Wood Fungi - since childhood I've always had a mild facination with Mushrooms and Toadstools and remember many excursions 'over the fields' to collect Field Mushrooms, Agaricus campestris - noting that I haven't got a photo of the 'common' Field Mushroom I wonder where they've all gone.

This selection is of a variety of Moss and Lichen - again I have always been facinated in how some species seem to grow in their own mini eco systems - hanging from trees and rocks and anywhere else a seed can take hold - unlike the above Fungi photos that have been sorted into indiviual species these are more random and unidentified.

My Garden - the following photos are all taken in and around my garden and show a variety of plants and flowers that I grow in the small space around my house. The first page shows a year in progress (2015) and how the garden develops and changes throughout the seasons; the second page (to follow) is my choice of photos taken over the past few years.

This page is an index page to a selection of photographs taken when out walking. Most of my photographs (apart from the garden) have been taken whilst out and about walking in the countryside. I find I get good enough results from just seeing and photographing what I see around me rather than going out specifically to find an image.
